The Leaning Mirror Moves

The scariest thing happened yesterday!  If you follow me on Instagram, you may remember my extra large gold leaning mirror in the dining room which I treasure.  This is the scary part.  My super active tots kept tugging on the mirror and it almost fell forward!  I am still shaking thinking about it. All I want to do is to hold and squeeze my babies!!  We IMMEDIATELY moved the mirror upstairs into my bedroom.

What this means now is that I have an empty corner in my dining room, which we (husband and I) both surprisingly like better.  The space looks larger.  I have some ideas about how to fill it, including with a vintage bar cart that I recently scored on CL.  More on that later.  For now, here's the corner sans the queen of mirrors.

Now, I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate the hulk-size mirror into my bedroom.  Good thing is my bedroom has a sloped 18 ft. ceiling so the mirror does not overpower the room.  I have some ideas on how to style the space, but I was still curious about what's lurking out in the ether.  So I did what any decorator with a dilemma does, I started pinning for inspiration.

Ok, I realize none of these are pins of leaning mirrors in bedrooms (yes, I know these are foyers), but the images are still inspiring and match what I've already been dreaming up.  For some time, I thought about having a floor mirror in my bedroom + a vanity and bench plopped right in front of it. I could use it as a make-up area or to stare at myself every now and then (I know I am not the only one that does that.  Do you also stare at your tummy in the mirror while sucking it in and think "one day...hopefully?").

Or maybe no table in front of the mirror...

Decisions decisions decisions.

  1. I love the look of a leaning mirror. The first image seems like a great option, since there is a table if front that makes it not as appealing to those toddlers…happy Thursday!

    1. I agree, I love the brightness of the space in the first image. I also love zebra print and pops of pink. I think that's the route I will go, except it will serve the purpose of a dressing/vanity table. Thanks for the feedback! Xo

  2. I've always wanted a giant leaning mirror but alas, there's really no space for it in my home! Can't wait to see how you decide to style it - love the inspiration here xxx

    1. Thank you Kimberly! I think I am going to put a dressing table in front of it. I have been staring at that mirror and wall lately wondering if I should hang the large leaning mirror or leave it "leaning". We shall see. Thanks for the feedback!
