A New Year, Same Me... With A Special Surprise

Yes, I have been MIA.  Yes, I have been a terrible blogger.  Yes, I am sorry.  For those of you following me on social media, you know that we are expecting baby #3, which means we will have three under 3.  Exciting, but yikes at the same time. There are no excuses, but that is my excuse for being a crappy blogger.  Oops. 4 months of nausea and feeling bla + two active and demanding 2 year olds + a 9-5 job = decor envy going on a hiatus. But... I am back now.  Perhaps, not in full force yet, but still back.

Today is special day for me.  My baby girls turned 2 today.  Whaaaaa?!  Yep, I said two. Can you believe it? Below is a pic of them just one year ago. Where has the time gone? This is a bittersweet moment indeed.  I want to freeze time for a moment and just soak this all in.

Even sweeter is that as we celebrate my babies turning two, we are preparing for their baby brother's arrival.  That's right, we are having a boy.  Sooo... I guess that means mama can close up shop after baby #3!  In December, we hosted our family and had a gender reveal party.  It was such a special evening.  The excitement and pure joy melted my heart.  Here are some snaps.

The cake before.

The cake after.

And... my husband who looks like he won the super bowl.

And, not to abruptly switch gears, but can I puhleez share my yummy cheese spread from that night? (My cheese spread beat le hubby's cheese spread from another event, even though he does not like to admit it. If you're reading this babe... yep mine *was* better. Muahahaa.)  It's not a competition, but it kind of is ha ha.  The white marble cheese board can be found here and the cheese knives here.

And... last but certainly not least... it is decor envy's one-year anniversary!  I started my blog with big plans about a year ago.  Those plans have not/not fell by the wayside.  They have just been put on a temporary hold.  Life events took over, and I'm perfectly OK with that.  These moments as a new mommy will never come back so I want to soak in every moment and experience with my wittle growing family.

Thanks for following along! Talk soon.

    1. Thank you! I appreciate your constant encouragement and support. I am eager to get back into blogging, and hope to do so soon. (Meanwhile, I got promoted at my day job and with it came a ton of extra work because we are incredibly short-staffed so it's been a struggle. Ha ha. C est la vie!). And, love that you're doing all these great things. Keep on inspiring, design soul sista!
